The Annual Economic Outlook Breakfast - 2025

One of the most anticipated events in the financial industry at the start of a new year is the annual Economic Club of Canada's Economic Outlook Breakfast. This year, the event was held on the morning of January 9 at the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Toronto.

For the past several years, my team and I host a table at this event, inviting clients and their guests who wish to gain access to this timely information. Regardless of the type of investor, this presentation offers attendees a valuable opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the trends and forces shaping the global economy and features what's ahead for the future economic landscape.

This year's panel of distinguished chief economists, including CIBC's Avery Shenfeld, shared their expert insights and predictions for the coming year and was moderated by CTV News’ Vassy Kapelos.

Therefore, if you would like to learn more about this event, or are interested in attending next year's economic outlook breakfast, connect with us and we will be happy to add you to our guest list: thepowerinvestmentteam@cibc.com

Our purpose...our clients

Advisory panel of wealth advisorsAdvisory panel of wealth advisors

Last year, I attended a conference with some of my colleagues from across Canada. Some of us were asked to participate in a business session that discussed client service and elevating our clients’ experience.  It was great to share ideas and collaborate with like minded wealth advisors like myself.

Though we run our businesses in different parts of the country, there was one common theme among us; nothing is more paramount than creating enduring value for our clients and their families. We’re honored to be part of their journey, ensuring their legacy is protected.

Tax-efficient investing for business owners…how to keep more and grow more.

Last year, our team held a breakfast event for our business owner clients. The information presented shed light on a topic that is top of mind as we embark on tax season in the coming months.

Our guest speaker, CI Global Asset Management’s Vice President of Tax, Retirement & Estate Planning, Wilmot George Jr. discussed tax-efficient investing for business owners, with a specific look at taxation strategies for corporate income. It was great to see like-minded business owners coming together for this timely topic and discuss how this information assisted them.

If you own a business and would like to learn about the various tax opportunities you can discover by working with our team, contact us and we'll also add you to our guest list for our upcoming events. We look forward to hearing from you. Email: thepowerinvestmentteam@cibc.com or call 905 804-2240.

Individual Pension Plan (IPP)

Working together, we can create a retirement plan that includes solutions like an Individual Pension Plan (IPP) to help you transition to a comfortable retirement.

An IPP is a defined benefit pension plan that typically provides significantly higher contributions than those permitted within a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), when certain age and income conditions are met. That means you could have more tax-sheltered savings for retirement.
